Summer & An Above Ground Pool

My last post was such a downer that I thought I'd end the week on a happier note.

We're spending happy times in our backyard mostly lazing around. We're doing some reading and going through pages of workbooks. Sounds like a drag but it really isn't. Sammy and I finished the second Harry Potter book and now we'll spend the remainder of the summer reading the third book. At least I'm going to try to drag it out for the summer which will be hard considering Sammy's intense desire to read it all in one sitting.

And when the sun is shining, we inflate the pool.

Sammy is such a beach girl. Can you believe that she wants to cut that beautiful hair of hers? I'm torn. I don't want to cut it. Maybe just a few inches to clean-up the ends a bit, but that's all. I hope that doesn't make me a mean mommy.

Water + Sunshine = Joy

Emptying the pool has become quite the chore. It doesn't bother me though because normally, around this time, the grass is hard and brown but thanks to the pool, it's still green. And, if you see me in the front yard watering each individual shrub with buckets of water just know that I'm making good use of the pool water.

Enjoy the weekend and perhaps maybe next week I'll have a recipe to share.

  1. Looks like a blast! And I hope Sammy reconsiders....pony tails, buns, baretts, headbands, hair scrunchies, all those things aren't as good when you're hair is shorter, oh, and her curls will probably spring right up like all the Dammand's do when shorter.
