Did you get your CB2 catalog yesterday? It's chock full of decorating eye candy. One piece that caught my eye was this map:

brave new (old) world. This original canvas is handpainted by an almost extinct community of Bollywood artists known for their kitschy, glam movie posters and sets. With the Mumbai film industry's move to digital vinyl billboards, the talent of these fine artists is no longer in demand. In an effort to keep this art form alive, these limited-edition, signed paintings from the hands of the original masters are commissioned exclusively by CB2. Once required to produce up to 20 posters a day during their movie careers, this special initiative provides the artists not only a new source of income, but the opportunity for a slower pace focused on their skills and passion for painting. This original map is truly elemental, handpainted on cotton canvas in a wash of colors ranging from henna to river mud. Its global perspective will remind you of where you've been, and inspire where you're going.

Limited edition: Only 576 original paintings are available.

  1. The artwork is cool, but how about those chairs? Love them.
