I have had a heck of time with my computer these past few weeks, but I'm happy to report that all of that craziness is behind me and I'm back in Blogger business. After having these technical issues it got me thinking about how I would manage without the benefit of a computer for a few months. I'll be the first to admit that I have an unhealthy relationship with my TV... I watch far more than I care to mention, but even sometimes that doesn't compare to the affection I have for my computer... I need my computer. Are you like that too? Do you feel unsettled when you haven't razzed into Facebook or Nordstrom or J Crew or your favorite blog after a day or so? Bananas isn't it?
Hi, my name is Maya and I'm a computerholic.
Moving on....
Recently, Alex and my mom baked cookies. During their time in the kitchen together, I learned something very telling about the difference between me and mom. My mom has loads of patience. I left Alex and mom alone to have a bit of grammy-granddaughter time and noticed something severely lacking from their interaction... there wasn't any screaming, scolding and grimacing. Mom was untroubled by mishaps or spills -- she even let Alex crack an egg! Whenever Alex spilled a little flour on the counter, mom wiped it clean without so much as a finger wag. I wish I had that kind of patience. Then if that weren't enough, mom let Alex place the cookie sheet into the hot oven. What the what?! Granted mom was right there the entire time making sure Alex was safe.
A couple of weeks ago we went to the pumpkin farm hoping to get a good gander at the Great Pumpkin and instead laid eyes on this gem.
Oh my this sucker was heavy.
Now there's something you don't get to do every day... pumpkin rolling.
Mom's been knitting again. In the past few weeks she's made a squirrel and a pair of socks. I'm hoping she'll have the strength in her fingers to make a skunk for me... cutest little guy ever. The squirrel is darn cute too don't you think? You can barely see the bushy tail peeking out... wished I'd taken a better picture.
Lastly, have you been to Happy Planet toy store? No. Gracious! Then you must. It is bright and cheerful and there's real live finches fluttering about in a large habitat. Oh, and a there's a hedgehog too -- though you can only see him after five considering he's nocturnal and all. The toys are brilliant too. There's even a large farm style kid's table where you'll find seasonal crafts to work on right there in the store. Here you see Alex making a button to pin on her jacket.
I've gotta go now. It's Thursday night and I've got plenty of TV to watch: Community, The Office, 30 Rock, Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and much more. Don't worry, I won't watch them all in one sitting. Most of it I'll record and watch over the weekend. Please don't judge me, this is my life.
Night all.
